Put your life experience to work leading a current Husky toward a successful future

Think back. As graduation approached, what resources were available to help you land your first professional position? Chances are, regardless of your answer, alumni weren’t a major part of the equation. Today, Bloomsburg University is working closely with graduates on a new initiative called Career Connections that provides opportunities for alumni to create career development opportunities by acting as job shadowing hosts, networking with students through BU's LinkedIn group, or helping create partnerships between their organizations and BU to expand internship and employment opportunities for students and new graduates. Alumni also share their career and workplace experiences as speakers or panelists in the classroom.

"Through the SEL (job shadowing) program, we have been able to provide students a 'look' into the jobs and roles that they will be in after they graduate. It gives us the opportunity to share our programs and what's current. We also get the chance to learn through the interaction with students."
